Through one of the most fertile growing regions in northern Mexico, you will drive through the young city of Los Mochis and various agricultural areas until you reach the colonial city of El Fuerte.
Here you learn to live in harmony with nature and you will learn how the indigenous “Yoreme-Mayo” traditions have been preserved. There is much to discover in El Fuerte. Be sure to visit the viewpoint or the Miguel Ángel Morales Ibarra Community Museum. Garments, masks and instruments used in traditional dances are exhibited here, as well as objects from the daily life of the Yoreme indigenous people. From the vantage point you can see the blueberry plantations and the river in the distance.
In 2010, El Fuerte was awarded the name of “Magic Town” for its beauty, culture and history. On a walk you will visit the beautiful Plaza Mayor, the government palace, the museum and some historical buildings.
