TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ - SUMIDERO CANYON - SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
Welcome around noon at the Tuxtla Gutiérrez airport. From there, a raft trip start along the Grijalva River through the Sumidero Canyon. Here are crocodiles, monkeys, and a variety of rare birds. Then you will be transferred to the colorful colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, founded by Diego de Mazariegos in 1524.

SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS - INDIGENOUS MUNICIPALITIES - SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
After breakfast, we will take you to the indigenous community of San Juan Chamula, known for its special religious traditions. By the way, Tzotzil is spoken here. Then, visit the indigenous community of Zinacantán, where you will visit the church and a home’s family, where you can taste the distilled schnapps in secret by local residents. You can also see a waist loom in action. After you back, you have the option of having lunch in San Cristóbal de las Casas (not included). Then we will take you through the beautiful small town, the rest of the afternoon is free.

SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS - AGUA AZUL - MISOL HA – PALENQUE
Check-out is long before breakfast. The exact departure time will be determined the day before. You can have breakfast in a restaurant while traveling.
The journey continues to the Agua Azul waterfalls: the Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers meet here. Don’t forget your swimsuit – you can cool off in one of the shallow pools and at the same time enjoy the view of the surrounding waterfalls. Later in the day we will take you to the nearby 30 meter high Misol-Ha waterfall, which is located in the jungle of the mountain. This beautiful and refreshing place is ideal for lunch around 15 hours (not included). You will arrive at your hotel in Palenque in the late afternoon.

PALENQUE – CAMPECHE
After breakfast, visit the archaeological site of Palenque: this Mayan city is a very special architectural and sculptural cultural asset. During the visit you can admire several buildings such as the palace, the temple of the cross of leaves and the temple of the sun.
In the afternoon you will arrive to Campeche. The city is surrounded by a wall that was once used to defend against pirate attacks. During your night city tour, you will learn more about the traditions, folklore and customs of this city, which also have excellent cuisine.

CAMPECHE – MÉRIDA
After breakfast, visit a beautiful place in the Mayan region: Uxmal. The ruins in Uxmal are typical of the architecture of the Puuc period. In particular, the nuns’ square and the magician’s pyramid are among the most beautiful for their ornaments. We recommend that you have a typical local lunch (not included) around 13:30 hours
During the afternoon we continue to the white city of Mérida, where we take a guided tour of the city.

MÉRIDA - CHICHÉN ITZÁ – CANCÚN
After breakfast, we will take you to one of the most important archaeological sites in the Yucatan peninsula: Chichén Itzá. You will visit the beautiful buildings such as the Kukulkan pyramid, the observatory, the warrior temple and the ball game field, all important and well-known remains of the Mayan culture.
Then you will have the opportunity to enjoy a typical Yucatecan lunch (not included) and then you will be driven to Cancun towards the Caribbean Sea, where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

CANCUN - DEPARTURE FLIGHT
We recommend venturing to travel on the Chepe Express train through the Sierra Tarahumara, also known as the Copper Canyon. Ask us about the options for an extension. We are happy to extend the itinerary for you to visit the Copper Canyon and we will take care of the organization and all transfers.
